Emily has taught piano most of her life and has always loved music and the sharing of it, yet she is also very visually oriented and has loved the process of creating artistic works since a child. In college, while undertaking her first Bachelor’s Degree, she majored in Fine Arts and studied painting.
After her sons were grown, she returned to painting in earnest, and studied watercolor technique with Jane Miluski at the Community Art Center in Wallingford. She especially loves the surprise elements of watercolor and gouache, and is a Signature Member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society. An avid gardener, her themes often celebrate nature and the garden, or any scene which reflects the majesty of the created earth.
Very recently, Emily has enjoyed studying with Bonnie Mettler at the Wayne Art Center, concentrating on oil painting technique. Emily has exhibited and sold her work in many venues, and is a prizewinner at the Philadelphia Water Color Society, the Plastic Club of Philadelphia, and the Community Art Center in Wallingford. Emily lives in Ardmore with her husband of 47 years, Bill. They have two sons who also live locally, two beautiful daughters-in law, and three lovely grandchildren.
